Anymore, this means a strong social media presence. Mashable Business connects you to five successful social pr campaigns. One of my favorites from the site is the campaign to raise interest for horse racing. The Breeder’s Cup World Championship pursued to have a social media campaign utilizing Twitter. They featured Zenyatta, the unbeatable mare, to attract attention. Utilizing twitter, they were able to tell her story and updates. They also made a video using the Secretariat trailer, putting Zenyatta against him. It was a hit!
It is so interesting how the right timing and the right strategy can create such a success. Today in public relations, we have to think outside the box… and even outside of that box. In such a short time, public relations has added so many new aspects that it is some what overwhelming. Only three years ago were we learning how to write press releases, and now we are bombarded with social media. I can’t even start to imagine what the next generation will be learning. Better just be ready for a crazy ride!
