University of Central Missouri Hosts Earth Week 2011

            WARRENSBURG, Mo. (March 30, 2011) – The University of Central Missouri is hosting its second annual Earth Week, a full week of activities celebrating Earth Day, April 16-22.

            Earth Week Focuses on celebrating sustainability and recycling efforts on campus, providing information on the importance of living and going green. It encourages and facilitates partnerships between the Warrensburg community and the UCM campus groups.

Earth Week 2011 will include:

Saturday, April 16
           ·      Volunteer Service Day - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Selmo Park)

     ·   Community Garden - 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (UCM Mitchell Street Farm)

Monday, April 18

·      Kickoff Assembly - 1:30 p.m. (Student Recreation Center)

·      Sustaining Sustainability at Central - 2 p.m. (Student Rec. Center*)

·      Mo Recycles Like Crazy!  Day 1: e-waste - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Union Street)

·      Haute Trash Fashion Show - 7:00 p.m. (Sandra Elliot Union Ballroom)
