Super Bowl to create first ever Social Media Command Center

It is apparent that social media is becoming a powerhouse, as it plays a major role in the biggest stage in sports: Super Bowl week. Starting the Monday before Super Bowl XLVI, a team of strategists, analysts, and techies will team up to become the first ever “social media command center.” The team will constantly update fans about attractions, parking and vital information in case of a disaster.

Not only will this social media team be working 15 hours a day to answer posts from users, but will also be monitoring Twitter and Facebook posts about the Super Bowl in general.  This is the first time a “social media command center” has been utilized for this kind of event, and will most certainly catch on among other major events if proven successful. Events such as professional and college sporting championships, and award shows ranging from the Oscars to the Espy’s will use this model of social media.

Social Media has most certainly made opinion readily available to the public, and has changed more and more over the past couple of years. Corporations and organizations are using social media now more than ever because it gives their members or customers a voice, and creates relationships between the public and the company. The team also is utilizing radius operatives that will be able to pick up any general phrase referring to the Super Bowl events. Not only is social media becoming the main interaction between different people, but also it has now reached one of the largest events worldwide.
