<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">For some of us, reading hot topic discussions on social
media is a pet peeve. For others, posting opinions on social media is a way to
let off some steam. Regardless, social media is a source of differing opinions,
a way to keep informed of trending topics, and a way to be entertained (or
annoyed).<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">When voicing opinions, however, we should all be aware that
the content we post has the power to come back and haunt us. According to </span><a href="http://marketmoose.com/2011/03/discussing-controversial-issues-in-social-media/"><span style="color: #0019e8; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">market moose</span></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">
there are five important things to keep in mind while voicing your opinion
online.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none; text-indent: -.5in;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - Social media is community blogging. In a society
polarized by ideology, it requires that we learn how to share one giant whiteboard and get along.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none; text-indent: -.5in;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - Censor a response, and you’ll
be perceived as unreasonable and dictatorial.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none; text-indent: -.25in;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - Generally speaking, you want to avoid trying to govern
conversations, and also avoid fighting too hard for your own ideas (because the
venue you’ve chosen is not yours, even if you’re on your own page).<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none; text-indent: -.5in;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - If you really
don’t like something, translate that into what you have to offer in its place,
and post it on your wall as an update, instead of pinning a comment on their
stuff.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none; text-indent: -22.5pt;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - If you find you’re friending and
unfriending all the time based on someone’s thoughts and ideas, you don’t get
it.
You
aren’t expected to like everyone’s views, but you are expected to accept them.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">What was your social media involvement with hot topics last
year? Thanks to bynd.com we know the hottest topic on social media in 2012 was
the US Presidential Election. With 30 million followers on the social media
site Facebook, President Barack Obama is considered the most popular political
candidate in the world! This is more proof that social media continues to
be a leading source of information for our society.</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Since the beginning of social media, it has long
been debated how useful the channel of communication is for businesses. When
creating messages, businesses often craft them to reach a specific audience.
Posting these messages and hoping they reach these potential people is no
longer enough. Knowing the specific outcomes behind social media efforts is
becoming more and more necessary as people are looking to find faster and more
effective ways to reach their goals.</span></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Previously, there were only a couple of ways for
people to track their outcomes. A popular tool, Klout, uses a scoring system
for the amount of interaction displayed over several different social media
websites. Also, people were able to track how many clicks were produced by a
web link through sites such as Bitly. Quite possibly the most effective was
Radian6 for seeing how messages reached people. Although these were steps in
the right direction, these services still leave a lot to be desired. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
Did
you know that this Monday was National Grammar Day? For some, it just meant another
typical day. But for others, it had a deeper meaning. After biting their tongue
all year, they could finally put on the police grammar badge and crack down on
those with poor grammar skills. It was a day of freedom, to finally lash out at
those who made grammatical errors all year long. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<br />
In an interview for the Chicago Tribune, Martha
Brockenbrough, founder of this holiday, gave insight into the world of grammar
and its importance, saying “For me, the goal is to
get people to think about language and why being careful with it matters. There
was this idea out there that speaking well and knowing what words mean and how
they work was somehow elite and untrustworthy. This is ridiculous.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
And
it is indeed ridiculous. Having good grammar not only makes you sound more
intelligent, it makes you more trustworthy. There will always be a time when
you make a mistake, such as misspelling a word because the AP stylebook was
just updated last week. The goal however, especially for PR majors, is to make
as few mistakes as possible. After all, we are still learning and growing in
our PR skills, but don’t use that as an excuse.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<br />
Another thing to remember is that we have technology on our
side. We can use social media to reach people all over the world. When we’re
feeling rushed and to reach that person <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>we can call them or shoot them a quick email. The point I am
trying to get at is that just because we have these options, doesn’t mean we
should take advantage of them by doing whatever we want and not giving a darn
if there is a mistake. Think of it as a privilege rather a right. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><br /></span>
Last, but not least, always proofread your material before
you finalize it. Be it through social media, a news release, a phone call,
email, you name it, if your grammar looks or sounds bad, that person probably
isn’t going to take you very seriously. And it brings your credibility to
question.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
So
stand up and be proud! If you know that your grammar skills are good then don’t
hesitate. If someone makes a mistake, do them a favor and politely correct
them. It not only makes you feel better, but it saves the world from poor grammar usage. <br />
<br /></div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--79CodgjRJk/US-gCiUUqII/AAAAAAAAAFA/cB8qvPJJjo8/s1600/coke-dell-social-media.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gsa="true" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--79CodgjRJk/US-gCiUUqII/AAAAAAAAAFA/cB8qvPJJjo8/s320/coke-dell-social-media.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Coca-Cola and Dell provide great media tricks to use, while being able to enhance a relationship with audiences through social media platforms. Everyone has a story to tell on a day-to-day basis, whether it is about clothing or some nice shoes that someone is wearing. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">On PR Daily Adam Brown shared some great advice about successful social media tricks. There are five ways to create tricks to “find the right balance of social media for your business.” <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Share your value to prove your value<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Social media is a great way to interact with others whether it is communicating through a personal account or business account that is created. “Social media gives the communications and marketing folds something that every C-suite executive sees the benefit of: data.” For example, Dell has a social media listening center that tracks more than 27,000 conversations in nine different languages. The conversations were sorted into 128 different channels, which create the importance of sharing valuable data through the organization.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Remember the 99% rule<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">When information is being posted to the social media site via Facebook or Twitter, the organization has to remember that the audience is not planning to purchase a product at the moment. Think about the fact that people purchase new computers every couple of years. So don’t provide an information overload with promotional posts because your audience might not want that information all of the time. The organization does not want to make the customer mad. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You should remember that a product can share stories, which can resonate more with your audience than an advertisement.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Telling a story or creating a timeline of your product is a way to keep your audience interested.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Choose the same key performance indicators that your leaders use<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">When organizations use indicators they must keep in mind that great outcomes could be established. For instance, I am currently a public relations specialist for Innovative Public Relations. On Valentine’s Day a co-worker and I wanted to generate likes on one of our client’s Facebook page. We took the initiative to make a post which stated “Roses are red, Violets are blue, if you like this Facebook post, we might have a surprise for you.” The post was very well received by our audience and resulted in more than 150 likes.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">You may have to pony up<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Money is what makes the world go around while channels are evolving. Therefore, people have to find out what platform should be used. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Changes are made on a day-to-day basis. There are changes that are made on social media platforms, which mean that organizations will have to promote posts to gain or reach most of their followers.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Think of Facebook as a search engine<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Facebook is changing, which seeks an opportunity for others to look at different products that have popped up from an essential like in their news feed. For example, if I like the Coca-Cola page my like will come up on my friend’s timeline, which causes them to look at Coca-Cola’s page and like it as well if they are interested.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">“It really tees up an opportunity for us to reinvent ourselves,” said Brown.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">The information in this article is a great source that has detailed information about Coke and Dell social media platforms, which are successful internally, as well as externally within the organizations through Facebook and Twitter.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Go like, share, or Tweet about the story. If either company were to let this get out of control the impact could have

caused backlash towards Burger King and Jeep for being negligent and

they seem to be in good spirits. And why shouldn’t they be? What could have

from the media about the offensive tweets. MTV attempted to fake hack its Twitter
account in hopes to gain some of the same publicity that Jeep and Burger King received.
They have gotten a lot of backlash for the attempt. That is why it is never a
good idea to create your own PR stunt.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></div>

<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
During this past Sunday, social
media influence was quite possibly more evident than ever before during the
2013 Grammy broadcast on CBS. Twitter, the main social media platform chosen by
the network and viewers alike, was thriving with the response to different
events of the night. These are a few of the more
obvious trends:</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<b>1.
Twitter trending from #theGrammys to #Grammys</b><o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
At the
beginning of the evening, #theGrammys was a trending topic. Unfortunately, CBS
and the Grammys were not covering this hashtag, making it harder to track
progress. Quickly, host LL Cool J stated for everyone to use #Grammys instead
and continued to remind everyone of this throughout the first part of the show.
Although the first trending hashtag was only three letters off from the desired
use for the network, it created two channels of communication instead of one.
It was not until roughly an hour into the show when #Grammys started
trending. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9jy6LDeT2MY/URva21NCSMI/AAAAAAAAAEg/Ivgg46vmBAA/s1600/LL-Cool-J-Host-Grammys.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9jy6LDeT2MY/URva21NCSMI/AAAAAAAAAEg/Ivgg46vmBAA/s320/LL-Cool-J-Host-Grammys.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="center" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<b>2.
Technical difficulties in musical performances</b><o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
To anyone
watching the Grammys, this was a very obvious issue, particularly in the
Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley performance. The instruments were much
louder than the singers' voices, making it difficult to hear lyrics. Immediately,
people started to tweet on this issue and demanded a solution. Thankfully, the
sound technicians were able to fix the issue, but it was not until the last 30
seconds of the performance. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-01GCr3XU6ys/URva01hNFMI/AAAAAAAAAEY/2YmQKkEbheg/s1600/dierks-miranda-holding.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-01GCr3XU6ys/URva01hNFMI/AAAAAAAAAEY/2YmQKkEbheg/s320/dierks-miranda-holding.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<b>3.
Celebrities participating in Twitter feed</b><o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
Once the
issue between #theGrammys and #Grammys was sorted out, celebrities in
attendance started taking up the hashtag and posting their experiences at the
event. One of the more popular Tweeters for the night was Ellen DeGeneres and
her humorous comments:<o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HnAIcOsxs6Y/URvaLwyEDtI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/0RKVgQAeYMk/s1600/ellen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HnAIcOsxs6Y/URvaLwyEDtI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/0RKVgQAeYMk/s320/ellen.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<o:p> </o:p><span style="text-align: center;"> </span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
These

The days
of just watching television and talking about it with friends the next day are
clearly over. At a moment’s notice, the world can be aware of new information.
Real time data is here to stay and public relations practitioners, as people
who try to manage messages, need to keep track of these trends. With everything
being so fast paced at this year’s Grammys, one can only guess what the 2014
Grammys will hold. <o:p></o:p></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;">
"Trust is the most basic element of social contact-the
great intangible at the heart of truly long-term success"-Al Golin, 40
year veteran of the public relations industry.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
We hope for the truth in every aspect of our lives. We
purchase cars from used car lots, we listen to every word a prospective
politician tells us and hope it's the truth and when we shake hands on a deal
we expect both parties to abide. But in our changing society it's hard to take
a man's word at face value. It seems that more often people are "bending"
the truth or telling a "white lie."<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So who do we have to trust? In high school I would believe
pretty much everything that was written on the Internet or said on the local
news channel. Many media classes later, I now realize that was a mistake, and it
seems everyone else has come to the same conclusion. Wilson & Ogden (2008)
discovered the credibility of traditional mass media is dropping: newspapers at
37 percent (down from 44 percent), radio news at 39 percent (down from 48 percent), and television news at
35 percent (down from 38 percent).<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So who can we trust? According to a survey done by Richard
Edelman, CEO of Edelman Worldwide, "the most trusted source of information
now is a peer, or a person like me." That's right! Opinion leaders are the
leading force behind what is considered a truth from a lie. For the most part,
being educated, skilled, qualified and honest in your chosen career can
determine whether someone finds you credible, and having charisma doesn't hurt
either!<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">So, what I believe my personal conclusions about trust
come down to is something a lot of us have heard growing up: trust your
instincts. This can often be related to the saying, "go with your
gut." When doing PR for a client, it can be easy to stretch the truth to
make them look good. But if your instincts tell you your story isn't
believable, it probably isn't to your audience, either. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Be selective about where you receive content to help you
separate the truth from lies, and this will result in ethical public relations
practices.</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

experiences with students. One question that many students ask is does GPA
matter when looking for a job? After asking the panel of professionals the
common answer was no. The majority said that when looking at a resume they
don’t look at the GPA but the activities and experiences students receive from
being involved. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Public relations students were joined by students in other communication programs, as well as from DECA and AMA.<br /><br /> Professionals on the panel brought years of valuable experience and advice to UCM students. Of the nine pros featured, six were UCM graduates. These professionals included:<br /><br />• Cara Mahon, a UCM graduate and director of social media for Ameristar Casinos<br />• Renee Nagle, promotions director for Radio Disney in Kansas City<br />• Shawn Arni, a UCM graduate and director of marketing and PR for Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics<br />• Angela Brees, a UCM graduate and public affairs officer for U.S. General Services Administration<br />• Terry Oehrke, a UCM graduate and president of Ontarget, an online marketing company in Kansas City<br />• Gina Seibel, director of communications for the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce<br />• Leah Bradshaw, a UCM graduate and eCommunications specialist for The Salvation Army<br />• Julie Turnipseed, executive director of Warrensburg Mainstreet<br />• Danielle Ripley-Burgess, a UCM graduate and founder of Semicolon Communications in Lee’s Summit<br /><br />For the first hour, the panelists answered questions about their experiences in the field, and afterward each pro participated in individual roundtable discussions, giving students the chance to network with those who do things that really interest them.<br /><br />Key takeaways from this year’s pro day are listed below:<br /><br />• Make sure your resume is error free. You could be involved in numerous groups or have numerous accolades. If your resume isn’t spotless, it can show carelessness.<br />• Internships can open a lot of doors, not just because you’re building skills, but also because your supervisors will speak highly of you when you’re out on the job hunt.<br />• Find ways to continuously network. You may have a great job, but something better can always come along. Keep your eyes and ears open, and your business card on hand.<br />• Take business classes. Sometimes PR majors feel limited to the communication function of public relations. Business and marketing classes give a great insight into the corporate world, and go hand-in-hand with PR.<br />• If you cannot write effectively, you’re going to struggle. Practice writing every single day in whatever way you can.<br />• If you’re a member of PRSSA, networking through various PRSA chapters can be very beneficial.<br />• If you’re looking for a job, stopping by to talk to an employer after you send in your resume goes a long way and keeps you top-of-mind.<br />• Find your passion and research it. If it isn’t what you thought it was, don’t panic. You’re going to find your niche.<br />• GPA’s are not as important to employers as you may think. A good GPA is never a bad thing, but it’s more important that you show off what skills you have by participating in clubs and volunteering.<br />• PR is hectic. Enjoy taking naps in college while you can.<br /><br />This isn’t all the great advice that was given during Pro Day, but it stood out to students, and for good reasons. These are great tips for anyone.<br /><br />Overall, Pro Day was a huge success for PRSSA with more than 100 students who attended. The future for this event gets brighter every year, as more pros in different capacities become part of the panel. Look forward to another excellent panel next year.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
Not too long ago, watching sports meant sitting on the couch
and tuning into the game of choice.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>When
commercials came around, you would probably turn to another game (if you were lucky
enough to have another), or you would turn to some other show until the game
came back on.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Things are different today.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>The Internet has given us access, sometimes limited access, to other
games—whether it be highlights, commentary, behind-the-scenes access, or scores
of other games.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The real advancement in sports today is social media, more
specifically, Twitter.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Take the NFL for
example.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Each NFL team has a Twitter
account, each expert on that team has an account, and those highly invested in
those teams will follow what accounts they can to get real-time updates.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
After the games, you get opinions and feelings from actual
players, which for the news media, changes the way they can cover the
sport.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You can watch the relationships
between players on different teams develop, whether it be the camaraderie among
competitors, or trash talk.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Twitter has also become a hub for gaging opinions from fans
and the media.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After this years “Fail
Mary,” where the referees botched the final call in the Packers-Seahawks game,
people took to Twitter in an uproar.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The next step in the evolution of social media in sports is
already in development.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Fans of the
soccer team Sporting Kansas City will be able to access different camera angles
of the game and send them to friends, from a service provided inside LiveStrong
Sporting Park.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If the MLS can do this, I
don’t expect the NFL, MLB, or NBA to be too far behind.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The evolution of sports spectating, to me, is very similar
to the evolution of marketing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Watching
the sport isn’t enough anymore, just like seeing a commercial isn’t

year. Apparently it was going to help me keep my eyes open long enough to cram
for my exam the next day. Well it worked and I was left a coffee enthusiast.</span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Coffee has yet to let me down. I could drink it all day
long. Iced coffee, hot coffee, lattes, espresso; you name it, I’ll take it. The
more coffee I drink, the better my creativity seems to be and in public
relations, that’s exactly what I need.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">

coffee successfully gets me through the project. </span></div>

So does coffee drinking come with the profession? I came across this picture on
Pinterest and it immediately caught my eye. Which profession drinks the most
coffee? According to a survey by Dunkin’ Donuts and CareerBuilder PR
Professionals are second when it comes to heaviest coffee drinkers. After
seeing PR Professional at number two I felt relieved. It’s good to know I’ll
fit right in when I enter the career force. </span>Innovative Public Relations (IPR)http://www.blogger.com/profile/01665950421972505709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7313055378063542603.post-73284250776069517952012-10-04T14:14:00.000-05:002012-10-04T14:14:12.883-05:00Say "I do" to networking

<span style="color: white;"></span><br />
<span style="color: white; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">2)
Word Choice – It is important to know which word to use when you are writing a
story. There is a difference between the meaning of <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">there</i>, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">their</i>, and <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">they’re</i>. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">There</i> is an adverb indicating
direction: We went <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">there</i> for dinner. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Their </i>is a possessive pronoun: They
went to <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">their</i>
house. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">They’re</i>
is a contraction for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">they</i> <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">are</i>. Another word misused in <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">your</i> and <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">you’re</i>. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Your</i> is used when belonging to or
associated with the person or people that the speaker is addressing: what is <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">your</i>
name? <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">You’re</i>
is the contraction for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">you</i> <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">are</i>. </span><br />
<span style="color: white;"></span><br />
<span style="color: white; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">3) Ending a sentence
with a preposition – As a general rule, prepositions should not be used to end
a sentence. The time that is acceptable to use a preposition is when the
sentence would not make sense without the preposition: What did you step on?
The sentence would not make sense if the word on was omitted. </span><br />
<span style="color: white;"></span><br />
<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">4) Comma use in a list -
In a series,</span><span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"> use commas to separate elements in a series, but do not
put a comma before the conjunction in a simple series: <i>The flag is red, white and blue. </i><span style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic;">Put a comma before the
conjunction in a series if the last part is an element that involves a
conjunction: <i>I had orange juice, toast, and ham and eggs for breakfast.</i></span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: white;"></span><br />
<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">5)
Use of quotations – When using direct quotations to surround the </span><span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">exact words of

bit harsh and intense, public relations is extremely rewarding. There aren’t
many careers that allow you to brainstorm, research and execute a project, and
be involved every step of the way. You're able to take your own ideas and turn
them into reality. The countless hours you put into implementing campaigns and
cups of coffee that helped along the way are all forgotten when you're able sit

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
Public relations is
fascinating.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The growth of and the need
for it make the industry’s potential limitless, and as PR majors, we find that
there is just about nothing we can’t do with it.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
The classroom experience is just
one-third of a whole.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We develop skills
that will set us apart from our peers at other schools.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>How many students can say they know how to
conduct a press conference or have gained real-world experience with clients in
a class?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Internships are the second part
of the whole.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We build our confidence as
professionals when we’re thrown into the real-world mix.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
I’m finding that Innovative Public
Relations is the third part, completely what makes UCM’s Public Relations
department top notch.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For students that
claim that the PR program should focus more on business, IPR is for them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I had a writing-intense internship, that dealt
less with client relations, and more with content creation.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
IPR completes the circle for
me.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The “business” meetings, client
relations, and hands-on experiences have already prepared me in the ways my
internship didn’t.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The biggest thing
I’ve found about the classroom, the internship, and IPR is that everything I’m
doing is intersecting in a way that shapes my understanding of the industry.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
This semester I’m taking integrated
marketing communication, a class I’m thus far enjoying.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We analyze different ways companies advertise,
whether it be through television, print or social media.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The practices all come into play in IPR,
where we discuss different methods of connecting with audiences.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>While the work for IPR is on a much smaller scale
than, say, a big company’s ad campaign, the idea is still the same:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>use different mediums to build and maintain
relationships with key audiences.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
That being said, public relations
is planned with the audience in mind.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>The skills we develop in class and the external experiences start coming
together to make us stronger professionals.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I was getting coffee the other day next to Jeff Murphy, who works for University Relations and supervises the student PR firm. Even though I only met him once, he spoke to me. Our 15 second conversation meant more to me than he knows I’m sure. Professionals may not realize this, but just to speak with someone who is where we want to be in the future is so encouraging. For someone who already has a career in the PR field to take an interest in my learning and my skills is something you can’t find everywhere, but I found it at UCM.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">UCM recently launched a new strategic positioning platform:<span> </span>“Learning to a Greater Degree.” This definition hits the nail on the head. It perfectly describes my journey at UCM. I’m not just going to class to graduate with a degree. I’m learning much more than that. My learning goes beyond the classroom. It's what I am able to accomplish outside of class that will really impact my future. Anyone can sit in class and take notes, but the opportunity to take that knowledge and apply it through an internship or Public Relations Student Society of America or Innovative Public Relations is where the greater learning happens. </span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">This all clicked for me as I stood there getting coffee next to Jeff. We don't just go to class at UCM; we take it to the next level. My advice to students is to get involved outside of class and make an effort to know professors and faculty. They were once in your shoes and now they are well into their career. They have already been where you are going and are your connection to the professional world. </span></span></div>

<span style="color: white;">By: Hannah Rhoad</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">Over the years Facebook has become more popular. With parents, aunts and uncles, and even grandparents on Facebook, pages are being monitored more now than ever, and the same goes for businesses. According to prdaily.com there are five posts that businesses should delete from their walls. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">Not everyone is going to love the brand, and may see the Facebook page as a public forum to put down the business. If this happens, as the business there are two options: Engage the person or ignore him or her. Only in special cases and as last-resort scenarios does the business want to delete a comment, without proper cause.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">Here are a few guidelines for when it is necessary to delete posts on your businesses page:</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">1) If the post is depicting some illegal action.</span><br />
<span style="color: white;"> Any time someone posts a photo of an illegal activity on the page, the business should delete it.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">2) If a comment uses words you wouldn’t want a child to say.</span><br />
<span style="color: white;"> Through Facebook’s settings businesses can set up the filter to weed out any bad words, but there are still clever alternative ways to spell curse words. People will find ways to swear on the page and in these cases, it is OK to delete.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">3) If a post is completely off topic.<br /> For example if the business you run is a cookie brand and someone posts on your page about their disgust for members of a particular political party. It is ok to delete the posts that are completely off topic and out of place on the page. Just be prepared to explain why the post was deleted.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">4) If a post attacks or is aimed at insulting another user.<br /> There is no reason to provide an outlet for people to insult another. Kindly ask them to take the attacks elsewhere and delete the comment.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">5) If someone is hawking their wares on the page.<br /> It is surprising how many people see a single businesse’s page as the ideal place to inform people about their own completely unrelated product or website. It can be tricky when it is a blogger coming to the page and wants to use your product page as a way to get page views for his or her article or story, but this is when you evaluate on a case-by-case basis.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">If a claim is made against a product or the company that is blatantly false, it is better to address that in the comments and leave it up for everyone to see. It seems that when people come to the page and leave negative comments, fans will come to the rescue and fill the page with positive words about the business.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">How people can and cannot talk in your public forum should be outlined in your community guidelines in as vague or specific language as you feel comfortable using. As long as you have those guidelines to point to as the reason you deleted a particular comment, you should have no issues. It’s only when you start deleting negative comments from your page with no basis that you run into trouble.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: white;">These tips are not only good for businesses to keep in mind but also any organization, club, or even individual people who are looking for a job or in keeping their own. </span><br />

By: Hannah Rhoad</div>
<br />
This past week I had the opportunity to compete in the Miss Missouri Pageant held in Mexico, Missouri. What an experience! One I will soon not forget. While preparing for the pageant I had to pay attention to current events because I had to be ready for any question that might be asked in interview. When people ask me why I compete in pageants, I say it’s not just for the scholarships but it is because I enjoy competing. I enjoy making the friends that I compete with year after year, I enjoy the people I have the opportunity to meet, but most of all I compete because of the skills that I learn along the way. <br />
<br />
Aristotle once said, “One must learn by doing the thing, for though you think you know it, you have no certainty until you try.” This is one reason I believe that hands on learning works so well when it comes to the field of public relations. Last summer I took a class that was solely based on media training. Media training was a class that focused on how to conduct press conferences as well as how to handle the media in a press conference. We could be taught how to give press conferences for weeks, but until we had the opportunity to practice one we did not know if we could successfully manage a press conference. Yes preparing for the press conferences was hard because I was unsure what type of questions would be asked by my fellow classmates, or the reporters. By being put into this position it taught not only myself but the rest of the class that we all could survive a press conference. We all learned that it is always better to be over prepared than under prepared and that we had to be prepared for unexpected questions at any point of our public relations careers. <br />
Having my interview at Miss Missouri was not that different than walking into a press conference. The most important thing to remember was to relax and only talk about what I know to be true. When I was preparing for my interview I treated it like I was going to give a press conference. For every topic that I thought I might have a question about I had a notecard that I made with two or three key messages or short points that I wanted my judges to know about that topic. This is just one of the skills that I learned in media training that I have used in my own life. <br />
<br />
When it comes down to it, pay attention to the skills and lessons that you learn in school. They may come in handy when you least expect them to.Innovative Public Relations (IPR)http://www.blogger.com/profile/01665950421972505709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7313055378063542603.post-69606113122887613062012-06-06T15:11:00.001-05:002012-06-06T15:56:41.954-05:00My experience with Innovative Public Relations<div dir="ltr" id="internal-source-marker_0.42871708113419593" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">My
personal experience with Innovative Public Relations has been really
fun! I have enjoyed doing all the social media, helping plan the Show Me
Justice Film Festival, and working on the Welcome Back Edition stories.
It is really cool knowing that my stories I wrote will be distributed
to community households. </span><br />

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Innovative
Public Relations has helped me better prepare for the real world and
what it will be like when having real clients. The student led firm is a
really good thing that the university has because it helps students
realize what it would be like working in a real firm. This makes the
students who work for IPR very marketable. Employers will see that they
know what public relations is actually like rather than just reading
about it. I learn by doing things myself and this has definitely helped
me! It has helped me grown</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: red; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"> </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">in the areas of professionalism. <span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">I
feel more comfortable going up to people and trying to communicate with
them on an event that is taking place. Sometimes you have to be the
first person who makes that initial contact and in this career field,
that is most certainly true. It’s helped me be more professional because
it does feel like a job, not a class. I am excited to add Innovative
Public Relations to my portfolio and my resume. I have learned to
multi-task better and be efficient with my time.</span><br />

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">I
would recommend Innovative Public Relations to anyone, especially
anyone interested in the public relations field. I have learned so much,
and I know other people will too. </span><br />

media can be a really great thing for businesses, organizations,
sporting teams, events, and many more. It gets the word out faster and
to more people. It provides a much larger and broader reader base than
media outlets alone. Like these teams, businesses, organizations, or
whatever it might be, get the word out fast and in an engaging way.
People can get instant feedback on social media. This is another great
benefit that people receive. Another really important thing to not
forget, most social media is free! This is a great way to market on a
small budget and really stretch that dollar. </span><br />

most of you can tell, social media has several different benefits and
for many different reasons. Wherever there are passionate people, you
need to find them and have a social media platform where they can
interact. It will raise awareness and people can be engaged to
communicate quick and easy.</span><br />

This does not sound unreasonable to expect but there are students who do not understand the purpose of internships. I look at it like this;</span><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"> </span><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">would you want to go to a doctor who had done all of the class work and graduated with his or her doctorate but never did a clinical to experience firsthand how to fix a broken bone? I personally would not want to be the “Guinea pig.” It is not that much different in a business; when looking for a job companies want graduates who know how to apply the basic skills they have learned through course work and have experience working in the field from past internships.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Main Street Inc. is a non-profit organization that focuses on the revitalization of downtown areas. This internship was important for me because it was a chance for me to experience how smaller organizations do indeed rely on interns to help them accomplish their day to day activities, as well as the larger events they plan. Working under Julie, who was my supervisor and the executive director, I saw how many hats that one must wear when working in the field of small town non-profit organizations.</span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: white; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"> Internships are important in the field of public relations because they give students a chance to learn about different areas. With the wide variety of career choices from health care, to non-profit, to firm work, to entertainment and sports, a student can never be sure where they fit best until they try some options. Internships are not only important to help students decide what area they want to specialize in but also if public relations is the degree they want to pursue. After an internship some students either find the hours overwhelming or fall in love with the atmosphere.</span><br />

Internship</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;"> </span>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Internships are hard to come by.
Especially internships that teach you news skills and expand on the skill set
you already have. For many budding public relations professionals, their summer
will be filled with an internship. Below you'll find Blast Media's 10 things
NOT to do at your summer internship.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">1. Keep doing things your way. If
they are making a suggestion, take it from the professionals and run with it.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">2. Wait for your next assignment to
come to you. Sometimes there really may be nothing to do, but always remember
that we are PR people which means there's always work to be done.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">3. Don't perform at top notch
because it is only an internship after all. That internship can turn into a
full-time job one day so stay focused and always give your all.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">4. Huff and puff about the menial
tasks. Odds are your boss had to do the some thing when they were in your
shoes.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">5. NEVER ask questions. Live by the
motto better safe than sorry. Your supervisor won't get upset with questions.
It shows you're taking interest in getting things done right.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">6. Constantly refresh your social
media. The company's social media is a great choice for refreshing! But your
personal accounts can wait until your out of the office.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">7. Leave immediately when the day
'is done.' Your boss stays late hours into the night and you asking if they
need any help before you go will not only make their day shorter, but also make
an impression on them.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">8. Don't make friends. The people
you work with, regardless of when are where, are always a fantastic networking
and connection opportunity to take full advantage of so do so!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">9. Tell everyone your life story.
Or, try and keep work and your personal life seperate.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">10. Snoop around for the inside
scoop! This isn't appreciated by your supervisor because odds are you're
already privy to a lot of sensitive information.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt;">If you follow these not to-do's with
the tips on how to correct them, your summer internship should be a breeze!</span></div>

From corporate companies to mom-bloggers, you can find a blog about almost any topic. However, some people are still hesitant to start a blog. Here are five reasons your company or client should jump on the blog bandwagon, according to <a href="http://www.prdaily.com/Main/Articles/11349.aspx">PR Daily</a>.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">1. Search opportunity is knocking</b> – If you have a blog, your company is more likely to show up in search results. By typing in key words in a search engine that your blog focuses on, you have another opportunity to show up in results, besides your company homepage. You can also use your blog to drive people to your main site.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">2. Google gets fresh</b> – Google has a new way to provide more up-to-date and relevant search results – the Google Fresh campaign. New, fresh content will rise on the search list, so having a blog with updated, relevant content each week will increase your chances of being seen by Google.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">3. Social hub</b> – Instead of directing customers to other media sources, use your company blog to drive them to your site. Introduce new products or topics related to your industry to attract potential new customers. It helps customers find information instead of them searching your site for it.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">4. Viva la PR coverage</b> – News coverage only lasts so long. Use your blog to summarize and link to the news coverage so it can get new life (and it’ll be on your blog forever).</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">5. Get personal</b> – A blog is the perfect opportunity for current and potential customers (or employees) to learn more about what makes your company stand out. Posting about industry topics keeps you relevant, but posting about your employees or company outings can tell a person a lot more about your company. Even the writing style can reveal a lot about your business.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Having a company blog may seem like just another thing to add to your already lengthy to-do list, but in the long run the benefits outweigh the small amount of time it takes to run a blog. A weekly post is all it takes to have a presence in the blog world. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"></div><div class="MsoNormal">Using a blog for IPR has added a lot to our social media strategy. It allows us to discuss topics that are of interest to us, and it also gives us more content for our other social media outlets. Each PR Specialist has the opportunity to write a post, which shows the diversity of our staff. Having an IPR blog is another tool for us to use to show our abilities as a PR firm.</div>Innovative Public Relations (IPR)http://www.blogger.com/profile/01665950421972505709noreply@blogger.com0
